About

Welcome to my Import DVD pages on the internet.

I have been importing collectable DVDs from around the world for the last 7 years, over that time I have experienced most of the pitfalls and problems of buying imports, in the same time I have experienced some bargains and gems that are impossible to find in the UK market.

Importing DVDs into the UK was my business until recently, I am now retired but I retain an interest and I attempt here to assist buyers.

Often DVDs that are counterfeit are sold under the heading of imports, this is unfortunate as it taints the whole business and makes things difficult for vendors of genuine DVDs.  I show pictures here of genuine and counterfeit DVDs to assist buyers in determining the authenticity of import DVDs, however I should note that it can take considerable experience to reliably tell the difference in some instances.

My services are available free of charge for private buyers who suspect that they have been sold a counterfeit DVD on eBay or elsewhere on the internet.  My services are limited to giving my independent assessment and advice where you suspect that you have bought a copy.

I’ve started seeing box sets of the complete first 19 series of The Simpsons for 200 dollars. Are these

    i) Totally counterfeit
ii) Legit releases that can’t legally be sold in the West
iii) Legit releases that they’d rather we didn’t know about, but which we don’t break the law purchasing.

Thanks for any light you can shed on this.

I Bought a Beauty and the Beast DVD, it says its region 1. Like a dvd you have mentioned on this site, there is blurring on the packaging and disc, but the dvd did come with inserts which look 100% genuine, and it plays perfectly. Any advice you could give me about beaty and the beast counterfeits you have seen would be much appreciated.
    Cheers.
